As we follow weight loss trends we might have come up with Intermittent fasting, in which we need to keep fasting for 16 hours and consume our required meals in the remaining 8 hours of the day.
To make it more extreme, we come up with OMAD diet, in which you need to keep yourself away from food for 23 hours and can have one large meal in the 60 minute time.
Can you lose weight by eating one meal a day?
When you are eating one meal a day, it’s sure you are consuming fewer calorie than you normally would. Few calorie intakes will definitely lead to weight loss.
Studies suggest that people who are on diet should keep an eye on their calorie intake to lose weight.
The best part for OMAD is diet freedom, you can have anything you wish in 60 minute time like burgers, pizzas, a chilled beer.
Is The OMAD diet healthy??
The OMAD can not be continued for a longer period of time, maximum you can extend it to 7 days that to if you are very keen to lose your weight. As these days everyone has a busy lifestyle so OMAD diet is that not simple.
Just because you can eat anything, doesn’t mean you should..!!
Having burgers, pizzas, and beer only in the OMAD diet is not the optimal fuel for the human body. If we are doing OMAD diet we should make our one meal balanced and micronutrient-rich for the sake of our overall health.
OMAD diet is strictly not for the weight trainers or the athletes.
What happens if you have one meal a day?
The only benefit which comes in our mind while doing OMAD diet is you lose weight, but not in a healthy way. You will again the same kilos which you lose as soon as you stop doing OMAD diet. Please keep in mind OMAD diet can’t be done for too long.
The risk factors of fasting are:
High Blood pressure and Cholesterol
Feeling extremely hungry all-day
loss in temper
Studies found that limited, water-only fasts did not result in any long-term medical complications.
Doing OMAD diet is not that much healthy as per our view, but if you want to go with the OMAD diet, strive for nutrient-rich foods, veggies, whole grains.
Please do not go for this diet if you are pregnant.
Even if you don’t experience any short-term side effects, studies have yet to find out how fasting can affect humans in the long run.
